モーターサイクルに乗れない私 I who cannot ride a motorcycle

実は私、モーターサイクルに乗ることが出来ない。運転免許を持っていないのだ。

学生時代、最初の会社に就職する直前の春休みに小型2輪の免許を取ろうと、運転試験場に何度か実技試験を受けに行った。

しかし、一本橋という最初の関門をクリア出来ず、そのまま就職したため、免許を取る意欲がなくなった。

その試験を受けるために友達に原動機付き自転車、つまり50CC未満のモーターサイクルを少しの間借りて練習したが、カーブで転んだりもしていた。

多分、私には運転センスがないのだろう。そして、縁もなかったのだと諦めた記憶がある。

中高年になってから、大型の高級なモーターサイクルに乗る人がいるが、それがとても羨ましいと感じている。

でも、もしかしたら、走ることよりも動力機械としてのフォルムが好きなのかもしれない。

だから、停車中の人のものを勝手に写真に撮ったりしてしまうのだ。

運転センスは今の方がないだろうから、今後はそうした楽しみ方しか残ってないのかもしれない。

Actually, I cannot ride a motorcycle. I don't have a driver's license.

When I was a student, I went to the driving test center several times to take the practical test to get a license for a small two-wheeled vehicle during spring break just before I started working at my first company.

However, I couldn't clear the first barrier, a single bridge, and I went straight to work, so I lost the motivation to get a license.

To take that test, I borrowed a motorized bicycle, or a motorcycle with less than 50 cc, from my friend and practiced on it for a little while, but I fell down on curves.

Perhaps I had no driving sense. And I remember giving up on the idea that I had no connection with it.

Now that I am middle-aged and older, I find myself very envious of people who ride large, expensive motorcycles.

But maybe I like the form as a power machine more than the running.

That's why I take the liberty of taking pictures of people's things when they are stopped.

Since I probably don't have the same sense of driving as I do now, perhaps such enjoyment is the only way left for me in the future.
