水沢の釜揚うどんでホッとでき Mizusawa's Kamaage Udon (deep fried udon noodles) is a great way to relax and unwind.

伊香保温泉から水沢うどん街までは車で行けば10分くらいだが、路線バスで行くとなるとちょっと面倒である。

うまく時間があえば問題ないが、本数がとにかく少ない。

実は、今回バスに乗り遅れて、途中まで歩く羽目になった。

というのも、伊香保ロープウェイを降りてから、水沢うどん街まで行くため、近くのバスターミナルの1番乗り場でバスを待っていた。

時刻通りに来たバスのドライバーに、念の為に「水沢うどん街に行きますか？」と聞いたところ、「行かない」とのこと。

「あれ？」と思い、仕方なくバスを降りたら、隣の2番乗り場から出て行ったバスがそれだったとわかった。

なんてこった！

一日に数便しかないのに同時刻に発車するバスがあったことに驚く。

とともに、自分の注意力のなさにガックリとし、下を向きながら大通りまで歩くことにした。

結果的に伊香保ビジターセンターまで歩き、そこのスタッフに聞いたら、目の前のバス停にあと10分くらいでバスが来るという。

ようやく乗って、車内を見渡すとロープウェイで一緒だった外国人の若者3人が悠々と座りしかも爆睡していた。

「あ〜彼らは、行程計画が緻密なんだなぁ〜」と思いつつ、大雑把で適当な自分を反省し、でも、ホッとしながら釜揚げうどんにありつけたという情けない話でした。

It takes about 10 minutes from Ikaho Onsen to Mizusawa Udon Street by car, but it is a bit troublesome if you take the local bus.

If you time it right, it is no problem, but the number of buses is very few.

In fact, I missed the bus this time and had to walk to the halfway point.

After getting off the ropeway in Ikaho, I waited for the bus at the nearby bus terminal to go to Mizusawa Udon Street.

When the bus driver arrived on time, I asked him if he wanted to go to Mizusawa Udonmachi, just to be sure. He replied, "No, we are not going there.

I thought, "What? I had no choice but to get off the bus and found that it was the bus that left from the next bus stop, No. 2.

What a mess!

I was surprised that there were only a few buses a day departing at the same time.

I was disappointed at my lack of attention and decided to walk to the main street, looking down.

As a result, I walked to the Ikaho Visitor Center and asked the staff there, who told me that the bus would be arriving at the bus stop in front of me in about 10 minutes.

I finally got on the bus and looked around to see three young foreigners who had been on the ropeway with me sitting comfortably or sleeping in the car.

I thought to myself, "Oh, they must have planned their itinerary very precisely," and then reflected on my own sketchiness and inappropriateness, but I was relieved to be able to enjoy my kamaage udon.
