創業450年の岸権旅館 Kishigon Ryokan, established 450 years ago

伊香保温泉の石段街に接する岸権旅館は創業が室町時代で450年以上も前だそうだ。

そのことに驚くが、確かに温泉の質は高く、湯量も豊富であった。
昔から温泉としては一流の場所だったのだろう。

結局、私自身、貸切風呂を含めて4つの温泉に入ることが出来た。

施設は室町時代とは言わないが、確かにそれなりに古さを感じる。しかし、現代の需要に合わせてリフォームもされている。

スタッフにはかなりの高齢者などもいたが、そういう人こそ「おもてなし」の心遣いをしてくれて、流石だなぁと感心した。

Kishigon Ryokan, which borders the stone step street of Ikaho Onsen, was founded more than 450 years ago in the Muromachi period (1336-1573).

This is surprising, but the quality of the hot spring is certainly high and there is an abundance of hot water.
It must have been a first-rate hot spring resort for a long time.

In the end, I myself was able to bathe in four hot springs, including a private bath.

The facilities are not exactly from the Muromachi period, but they are certainly old in their own way. However, they have been remodeled to meet modern demands.

Some of the staff members were quite elderly, but I was impressed by their hospitality.
