「シェルブールの雨傘」The Umbrellas of Cherbourg

年末に行ったコンサートでとても良かったのが、石田泰尚さんのヴァイオリンのソロ演奏。

その曲がシェルブールの雨傘。

実は以前、この映画を見ようとしたが、ミュージカル仕立てで、しかもあまりにも古いイメージだったので、始まって5分で見るのをやめてしまった。

今回は、音楽が引き金となって、映画を見る気になるという珍しいシチュエーションだったが、再度挑戦してみた。

無理やりのミュージカルはやはり今の時代では違和感が少しあったが、内容については、きちんとストーリーがあった。

そして、別れの場面で流れるのが、あの曲だった。やはり、ストーリーと同じようにとても切ない気持ちになった。

そして、もう一度、あのヴァイオリンの演奏を聴きたくなった。

One of the very best concerts I attended at the end of the year was a solo violin performance by Yasunao Ishida.

The song was "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

Actually, I tried to see this movie before, but I stopped watching it within 5 minutes after it started because it was a musical and also because it was so old-fashioned.

This time, I tried again, though it was a rare situation that the music triggered me to watch the movie.

The forced musical was still a little uncomfortable in this day and age, but as for the content, there was a decent story.

And it was that song that was played during the parting scene. As I expected, I felt the same sadness as the story.

And I wanted to hear that violin performance again.
