名勝 光前寺 Scenic spot Kozenji [essay]
駒ケ根高原にある名勝光前寺。泊まった宿から徒歩で行ける距離にあったため、とりあえず訪ねてみたが、思いのほか素晴らしかった。
国の名勝に指定されている庭園は広く、すべてを見て回るとなると一日がかりとなりそうだ。参道脇に林立する杉の木や苔むした石垣が名勝としての情感を醸し出している。
また、霊犬草太郎伝説も有名で、境内にその草太郎の銅像があった。宿泊した宿は「早太郎温泉」と銘打っていたが、その犬の伝説にちなんでいるようだ。
さらに、今回は見ることができなかったが、枝垂れ桜や参道の石垣内にある光苔も有名とのこと。なかなか見どころ満載のお寺で得した気分だったが、最も素晴らしかったのが、三重塔だ。塗装をしておらず、木材の素地のままのところもなかなか良かった。
思わぬところに素晴らしいスポットがあったが、これも詳細を決めない旅の良さだと実感した。
Scenic spot Kozenji Temple in Komagane Kogen. It was within walking distance from the inn where I stayed, so I visited for the time being, but it was unexpectedly wonderful.
The garden, which is designated as a national scenic spot, is large, and it will take a day to see everything. The cedar trees and mossy stone walls that stand beside the approach create a feeling of scenic beauty.
The legend of Reiken Hayataro is also famous, and there was a statue of Hayataro in the precincts. The inn where I stayed was called "Hayataro Onsen", but it seems to be named after the legend of the dog.
Furthermore, although we could not see it this time, weeping cherry blossoms and the light moss in the stone wall of the approach are also famous. I felt like I got it at a temple full of highlights, but the most wonderful thing was the three-storied pagoda. It was nice that it was not painted and the wood base was left as it was.
There was a wonderful spot in an unexpected place, but I realized that this is also a good trip without deciding the details.
