「13デイズ」"Thirteen Days"

もしかしたら第三次世界大戦の引き鉄になっていたかもしれない、と言われたキューバ危機。それを回避した13日間がテーマとなっている。
約2時間半、ずっとドキドキはらはらの状態だった。ドキュメンタリーではないから、詳細は脚色されているにしても、事実の部分は本当なのだろう。かなり切迫した状況で、ケネディ大統領もフルシチョフもギリギリの判断をしたのだろう。
そして、事実ではないにしても、アメリカ政府の中でも、戦争を厭わない幹部もいたのだろう。そういう内部の戦いも描いており、とても勉強になった。折しも、政権交代前のアメリカ政府は、キューバをテロ支援国家として、再指定したが、この映画をきっかけにして、いつか、本当のキューバ危機のことを知りたいと思った。

For about two and a half hours, I was in a state of excitement. It's not a documentary, so even if the details are dramatized, the facts may be true. In a very urgent situation, both President Kennedy and Khrushchev may have made a last-minute decision.
And, if not true, there may have been some executives in the US government who were willing to go to war. I also drew such an internal battle, which was a great learning experience. Even before the change of government, the US government redesignated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, but I wanted to know about the real Cuban Missile Crisis someday after this movie.
